Verizon Cell Phones Ringin' With The Late Bob Marley

Verizon Cell Phones has scored a deal with the late Bob Marley. Yes, that Bob Marley. While the most famous singer of reggae music in the world passed away in 1981 it seems he is still so marketable and popular among the youth of today as well the older generations that the deal was a must have for Verizon Cell Phones. Now, while he's not exactly a spokesmen for Verizon Cell Phones, his catalog will be available exclusively from Verizon Cell Phones as ringtones. Yes, this means all of his song, and yes, even if you have unlocked cell phones.

The deal was struck through Universal Music Group, the company that worked with Bob Marley during his remarkable career and who now have the rights to his catalog. So what does this actually do for Verizon Cell Phones? Well, ringtones are a popular way to accessorize ones phone as well as make ones phone different and unique from friends, family, classmates and coworkers. Bob Marley has such an enormous catalog of music and is so popular among college kids and business men alike that it will be easy to find a distinct ring for one's self amidst his large catalog. This means one will not have to settle for the most popular overused Bob Marley songs such as "Natty Dread" or "No Woman No Cry" rather they can find more underground and lesser known Bob Marley songs to distinguish themselves from the crowd.
All one needs to do is go into a college dorm building and count the Bob Marley posters on the wall to see that Bob Marley is as popular now, if not more popular, than he was in the late seventies and early eighties. For whatever reason he is an icon to these kids and undoubtedly many will be swayed to switch or stay with Verizon when they see the exclusivity that is this offer. It's too good to be true for many reggae fans and yet it is true. Verizon Cell Phones knows what an icon is and have essentially re-immortalized Marley by adding him to the technology of today. Undoubtedly, some people will be upset, though this is the nature of the music business as well as corporations as a whole.
Bob Marley is back, at least in some regard. And maybe it will be nice to hear that phone ring while sitting on the beach and out comes some Bob Marley tunes. Hey, it is certainly better than some of the generic rings that come with phones today; that's for sure.
